Area of application
Facade paint for long-lasting weather protection: diffusion-open, rain-repellent, alkali-resistant and ideal for the preservation of listed buildings and lime plasters.
Preparation
For all mineral substrates (such as concrete, masonry, levelling compounds, cement, gypsum and lime plaster), natural stone, firmly adhering silicate paints, matt emulsion paint coats and plasters as well as intact external thermal insulation composite systems. The substrate must be dry, clean, sound, absorbent and free of dust and grease. Remove loose material and poorly adhering coats of paint from the substrate. Prime highly absorbent, sanding and chalking substrates with baufan silicone resin primer. Allow new base coats to harden for at least 14 days. Repair cracks, holes and unevenness with a suitable baufan levelling compound.
Processing
Stir well before use and apply with a roller, brush, paintbrush, flat brush or suitable spraying equipment. Apply one base coat and one top coat diluted with max. 10% water. Allow at least 12 hours drying time between coats. The paint should not be applied in direct sunlight, strong winds or where there is a risk of rain. When coating larger areas, work wet on wet to avoid build-up. Clean tools with water immediately after use. Drying time: approx. 12 hours under normal conditions (+20 °C, 65% relative humidity, moderately absorbent substrate); longer drying time under unfavourable conditions. Tinting: With a maximum of 3% suitable universal tinting concentrates or solid colour and tinting paint (ensure light and weather fastness). Notes on airless spray application: Spray angle: 50° Nozzle: 0.023 - 0.027 Spray pressure: 120 - 180 bar
Consumption
Smooth surfaces/fine plaster grain → from 150 ml/m² Determine exact consumption quantity by test coating on the object.
Storage
Keep container tightly closed in a cool but frost-free place. If unopened and stored properly, shelf life is at least until: see batch label.
Notes
Processing temperature: +5 °C to +30 °C for material, circulating air and substrate Do not cover surfaces to be painted. Keep out of reach of children. Ensure adequate ventilation during application and drying. Do not inhale spray mist. Avoid eating, drinking and smoking while using the paint. Wear safety goggles. In case of contact with eyes or skin, rinse immediately with plenty of water. Do not allow to enter drains, waterways or soil. Only dispose of empty containers for recycling. caution! Hazardous respirable droplets may be produced when spraying. Do not inhale aerosol or mist. Use combination filter A2/P2 when spraying.
