Silicone Resin Facade Paint

Area of application

White exterior paint for long-lasting weather protection. Also ideal for use on listed buildings and on lime-rich render.

Preparation

Suitable for use on all mineral substrates (such as concrete, masonry, levelling compounds, cement plaster, etc.), natural stone, firmly adhering and sound existing coatings with silicone resin, silicate, dispersion-silicate and matt, absorbent emulsion paints, as well as on intact external thermal insulation composite systems. The substrate must be dry, clean, sound and absorbent, and free from dust and grease. Remove loose material and poorly adhering coatings from the substrate. Prime highly absorbent, sandy and chalky substrates with baufan Silicone Resin Primer. Allow new base coats to cure for at least 14 days. Repair cracks, holes and uneven areas with a suitable baufan filler.

Processing

Stir well before use and apply with a roller, brush, paintbrush, flat brush or suitable spray gun. Two coats are recommended. The first coat may be thinned with a maximum of 10 per cent water. Once the first coat is thoroughly dry, apply the top coat undiluted. Allow at least 12 hours’ drying time between coats. The paint should not be applied in direct sunlight, in strong winds or when there is a risk of rain. When coating larger areas, work wet-on-wet to avoid brush marks. Clean tools with water immediately after use.

Drying time:
approx. 12 hours under normal conditions (+20 °C, 65% relative humidity, moderately absorbent substrate); under unfavourable conditions, allow for a correspondingly longer drying time.

Tinting:
With a maximum of 3% universal tinting concentrates (LW-Oxyd types only) or solid colours and tinting paints suitable for external use.

Spray pressure: 120 – 180 bar

Consumption

Smooth surfaces/fine-grained plaster → from 150 ml/m²
Determine the exact amount required by carrying out a test application on the surface.

Storage

Store the container tightly sealed in a cool place, but away from frost.

Application temperature:
+5 °C to +30 °C for the material, ambient air and substrate

Glass surfaces must be covered, as paint splashes on glass are extremely difficult to remove. Cover any surfaces not to be painted.

Keep out of the reach of children. Use an A2/P2 combination filter when spraying. Ensure adequate ventilation during application and drying. Avoid eating, drinking and smoking whilst using the paint. Avoid contact with the eyes and skin. In case of contact with the eyes or skin, rinse immediately and thoroughly with water. Do not allow the product to enter the sewerage system, watercourses or the ground.

EU VOC limit value for this product (Cat.: A/c, Wb) = 40 g/l (2010). Maximum VOC content of this product: 1 g/l.

Disposal:
Only send completely empty containers for recycling. Dried-out material residues may be disposed of with household waste or as construction site waste. Dispose of liquid residues in accordance with EWC waste code 08 01 12.
