Area of application
For fixing highly and differently absorbent mineral substrates and for thinning silicate paints.
Preparation
Suitable for substrates such as wall and ceiling surfaces made of concrete, cement and lime-cement plaster, masonry, gypsum substrates, fibre cement boards. Also for adhesive lime, mineral and silicate cold coatings. The substrate must be dry, clean, sound, absorbent and free of dust and grease. Substrates that cannot be consolidated or do not adhere sufficiently, as well as sintered layers, must be completely removed. If in doubt, apply a test coat. Repair cracks, holes and unevenness with a suitable baufan filler. Cover surfaces not intended for painting beforehand, especially glass, aluminium and ceramic surfaces. Wash off splashes immediately with water.
Processing
Shake or stir well before use and apply with a brush, paintbrush, flat brush or suitable spraying equipment. The primer can be applied undiluted or diluted up to 1:2 with water. Prime very highly absorbent substrates twice wet-on-wet and roll in. Do not mix with primers and paints based on other materials. Clean tools with water immediately after use. Drying time: approx. 6 hours under normal conditions (+20 °C, 65% relative humidity, moderately absorbent substrate); in unfavourable conditions, the drying time is correspondingly longer.
Consumption
Smooth surfaces/fine plaster grain → from 100 ml/m² Determine exact consumption quantity by test coating on the object.
Storage
Keep container tightly closed in a cool but frost-free place. If unopened and stored properly, shelf life is at least until: see batch label.
Notes
Application temperature: +5 °C to +30 °C for material, circulating air and substrate Do not cover surfaces to be painted. Keep out of reach of children. Ensure adequate ventilation during application and drying. Do not inhale spray mist. Avoid eating, drinking and smoking while using the paint. Wear safety goggles (not glass). In case of contact with eyes or skin, rinse immediately with plenty of water. Do not allow to enter drains, waterways or soil. Only dispose of empty containers for recycling.
