Area of application
Special paste for bonding woodchip, textured, vinyl and embossed wallpapers to plaster, concrete, emulsion paint coatings, plasterboard, etc.
Preparation
The substrate must be dry, smooth, clean, sound and free of separating agents (e.g. dust or grease). Remove all wallpaper residue, poorly adhering paint and distemper. Repair holes and unevenness with filler. Pre-treat sanding and chalking substrates with deep penetrating primer. Pre-paste highly absorbent substrates or prime with deep penetrating primer. Pre-coat rough plasters with a primer.
Processing
Pour the entire contents of the pack into cold water (see table), stirring vigorously, and continue stirring for a short time. Leave the mixture to stand for approx. 30 minutes and stir again vigorously. Paste the cut lengths of wallpaper, lay them together and, after sufficient soaking time, glue them together. For slightly absorbent substrates and to increase moisture resistance, stir a 750 g can of wallcovering adhesive (2 cans of 750 g each for a 1 kg pack of extra special paste) into the prepared special paste. The wallpaper manufacturer's processing instructions must be observed. Do not process below +5 °C air and substrate temperature. Clean tools with water after use. Mixing ratio 500 g packet: Pre-pasting: Mix 1:20 = 10 litres of water = approx. 70 m² Light wallpapers: Mix 1:16 = 8 litres of water = 40-45 m² Rough wallpaper: Mix 1:14 = 7 litres of water = 35-40 m² Textured, vinyl and embossed wallpapers, heavy wallpapers: Mix 1:12 = 6 litres of water = 30-35 m² Mixing ratio 1 kg packet: Pre-pasting: Mix 1:20 = 20 litres of water = approx. 140 m² light wallpapers: 1:16 = 16 litres of water = 80-85 m² woodchip wallpaper: 1:14 = 14 litres of water = 70-75 m² textured, vinyl and embossed wallpapers, heavy wallpapers: 1:12 = 12 litres of water = 60-65 m²
