Area of application
White silicate interior paint for use in basements in accordance with DIN 18363. Low odour, preservative-free, high opacity, promotes a healthy indoor climate and provides excellent coverage.
Preparation
For all mineral substrates such as plaster, concrete or masonry as well as for existing, load-bearing silicate coatings. The substrate must be clean, dry, sound and free from dust, grease or loose particles. Highly absorbent, sanding or chalking surfaces must be primed in advance with baufan Silicate Fixative. Repair cracks, holes and unevenness with a suitable baufan levelling compound.
Processing
Stir well before use and apply with a roller, brush, paintbrush, flat brush or suitable spraying equipment. One to two coats are recommended, depending on the absorbency and condition of the substrate. The primer can be diluted with max. 10 % baufan Silicate Fixative. After the first coat of paint has dried through, apply the top coat undiluted. Depending on the absorbency of the substrate and the room climate, the drying time is approx. 5 hours; in unfavourable conditions (e.g. low temperature or high humidity), the drying time may be longer.
Consumption
approx. 125 ml/m² per coat. Determine the exact amount used by trial application on the object.
Storage
Keep container tightly closed in a cool but frost-free place. If unopened and stored properly, shelf life is at least until: see batch label.
Notes
Observe the technical data sheet. Processing temperature for material, circulating air and substrate not below +5 °C. Clean tools with water immediately after use. Ensure thorough ventilation during application and drying. Avoid eating, drinking and smoking while using the paint. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid contact with the eyes and skin due to the high pH value. We recommend wearing gloves and safety goggles (no glass). In case of skin contact, rinse with plenty of water. In case of eye contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice if necessary. Use combination filter A2/P2 for spraying work. Do not allow to enter drains, waterways or soil.
