Area of application
Potassium silicate solution for consolidating mineral substrates, regulates absorbency and is ideal as a pre-treatment for silicate paints.
Preparation
For all mineral substrates such as concrete, masonry, levelling compounds, cement and lime plaster. Remove old, poorly adhering coats of paint and loose plaster.
Processing
Apply Kali-Wasserglas with a brush or suitable spraying equipment (do not inhale spray mist when spraying). Depending on the absorbency of the substrate, Kali-Wasserglas can be diluted up to 1:3 with water (use diluted solution immediately). Clean tools with water immediately after use. Protect surfaces not to be treated from splashes. Drying time: approx. 6 hours under normal conditions (+20 °C, 65% relative humidity, moderately absorbent substrate); longer drying time under unfavourable conditions.
Consumption
Depending on the substrate → from 100 - 200 ml/m² Determine the exact amount used by applying a test coat to the object.
Storage
Keep container tightly closed in a cool but frost-free place.
Notes
Application temperature: At least + 5 °C for material, circulating air and substrate. Cover surfaces not to be treated with foil. Avoid splashes on glass, aluminium, ceramics, marble and similar materials. Remove accidental splashes immediately with water. Ensure adequate ventilation during application and drying. Do not inhale spray mist. Avoid eating, drinking and smoking during use. Do not allow to enter drains, waterways or soil. baufan Kali-Wasserglas cannot be used as a top coat on visible surfaces. Causes skin irritation. Causes severe eye irritation. Keep out of the reach of children. Do not get in eyes, on skin or on clothing. Wear protective gloves/eye protection (no glass). IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove any contact lenses if possible. Continue rinsing. IF ON SKIN: Wash with plenty of soap and water. If medical advice is required, have packaging or identification label ready.
