Area of application
For gluing light and normal wallpapers, as well as woodchip wallpaper on air-dry plaster.
Preparation
The substrate must be dry, stable and free of dust and grease. Remove old, poorly adhering wallpaper and distemper with baufan wallpaper stripper. Repair cracks and holes with baufan interior filler. Highly absorbent, sanding and chalking substrates must be professionally pretreated. Water-soluble impurities in the substrate that could penetrate during wallpapering should be treated with baufan Aqua Deck Isolierweiss. For highly translucent wallpapers and high-contrast substrates, we recommend a primer coat of baufan Wallpaper Primer White. To make it easier to change the wallpaper later, we recommend coating the substrate with baufan Wallpaper Changing Primer, especially for washable wallpapers. In principle, 15% baufan Wallcovering Adhesive or baufan Latex Binder should be added to critical substrates (e.g. slightly absorbent substrates), surfaces treated with Wallpaper Primer or paintable wall coverings.
Processing
Mixing ratio 200g bag: Pre-pasting: Mix 1:35 = 7 litres of water = 40-50 m² Normal wallpapers: Mix 1:25 = 5 litres of water = 25-30 m² Heavy wallpapers (e.g. woodchip and paintable wall coverings): Mix 1:20 = 4 litres of water = 22-25 m² Add baufan wallpaper glue to cold water while stirring vigorously and continue stirring for a short time. Stir again vigorously after 30 minutes. Observe the mixing ratios! Paste the wallpaper evenly, lay the wallpaper sheet together and apply after sufficient soaking time. Follow the instructions of the wallpapering machine and wallpaper manufacturer. Remove paste residues with a damp cloth. Clean tools with clean water after use. Drying time: approx. 5 hours under normal conditions (+20 °C, 65% relative humidity, moderately absorbent substrate); longer drying time under unfavourable conditions.
Consumption
Keep container tightly closed in a cool but frost-free place. If unopened and stored properly, shelf life is at least 24 months from date of manufacture (see batch label).
Notes
Processing temperature: at least +5 °C for material, circulating air and substrate Keep out of reach of children. Ensure adequate ventilation during processing and drying. Avoid eating, drinking and smoking during use. In case of contact with eyes or skin, rinse immediately with plenty of water. Do not allow to enter drains, waterways or soil. Only dispose of empty containers for recycling.
