Linseed Oil Varnish
A penetrating protective treatment for all types of timber, both indoors and outdoors. Ideal for furniture, fences, beams, worktops and many other wooden surfaces. Treated surfaces are given a water- and dirt-repellent, weather-resistant and breathable protective finish that brings out the wood grain. Also ideal for making pigmented primers and as an additive to artists’ paints.

Area of application
Linseed oil-based wood preservative for sealing furniture, beams, fences and worktops. Breathable, water-repellent and weather-resistant.Preparation
baufan Linseed Oil Varnish is applied directly to dry, clean and stable wood. The wood moisture content must not exceed 15 %.Processing
Priming wood:Dilute baufan linseed oil varnish 1:1 with white spirit and apply to the wooden surface using a soft brush or a cloth. For very absorbent or porous wood, apply a second coat once the first coat has dried completely. Wipe off any excess oil after approx. 10 minutes.
Preparation of oil and artists’ paints:
Mix standard paint pigments with undiluted linseed oil varnish to form a thick paste, which is then adjusted to a paintable consistency by adding linseed oil varnish and a little white spirit.
Drying time:
approx. 24 hours under normal conditions (+20 °C, 65 % relative humidity, moderately absorbent surface); under unfavourable conditions, the drying time will be correspondingly longer.
Consumption
Approx. 100 ml/m² - depending on the absorbency of the wood. Determine the exact amount used by trial application on the object.Storage
Keep container tightly closed and store in a cool but frost-free place. Minimum shelf life: 36 months after opening.Notes
Application temperature:+5 °C to +30 °C for the material, ambient air and substrate
Keep out of the reach of children. Cover surfaces not to be painted. In case of contact with the eyes or skin, rinse immediately and thoroughly with water. Clean tools immediately after use with white spirit. Do not allow the product to enter the drains, watercourses or soil.
Important safety note:
Used cloths may be prone to spontaneous combustion. Therefore, soak the used items in water and leave them to dry spread out in the open air.

Disposal:
Only send completely empty containers for recycling. Dispose of containers containing residues in accordance with EWC waste code No. 08 01 11.
