Technical information sheet

Area of application

Heating oil-resistant special coating for concrete, screed, heating oil storage rooms and interior drip pans. Highly elastic, based on synthetic resin.

Preparation

The substrate must be dry, sound and free of separating agents (dust, formwork oil, etc.). Remove old paint and loose plaster. Repair cracks and holes with baufan exterior filler.

Processing

Stir thoroughly before application. The material can be painted, rolled and sprayed. Legal processing instructions for coating oil drip pans: 1. For the primer coat, apply fix 2000 oil barrier coating, colour grey, diluted with water in a ratio of 2:1 parts by volume. 2. After a drying time of 12 hours, apply an undiluted coat of fix 2000 oil barrier coating, colour red-brown, as an intermediate coat. 3. After a further 12 hours drying time, apply the final coat of grey, also undiluted. In order to make the coating structure clearly visible, the three coats must be applied to the walls at a distance of approx. 1 cm from each other. 550 ml/m² in grey (150 ml/m2 for the thinned primer and 400 ml/m2 for the top coat) and 400 ml/m² in red-brown are required for the entire coating structure, i.e. a total of 950 ml/m². Floor coating: Apply Fix 2000 oil barrier coating diluted with water at a ratio of 2:1 by volume to the untreated substrate as a primer. Clean tools with water immediately after use. Drying time: approx. 8 hours under normal conditions (+20 °C, 65% relative humidity, moderately absorbent substrate); longer drying time under unfavourable conditions. The relative humidity must not exceed 70%.

Consumption

for oil barrier coating ► from 300 - 400 ml/m² for floor coating ► from 150 - 200 ml/m² (for a single coat)

Storage

Keep container tightly closed in a cool but frost-free place. If unopened and stored properly, shelf life is at least 24 months from date of manufacture (see batch label).
